We all hurt inside. But very few of us acknowledge it. We want to project to the world that we are tough. And we tell ourselves that we are strong. Yes, we need to do this. But our words need to be backed up with inner experience and direct knowledge of aspects of our self that are deeper than the psyche. This is our Divine Image.
The psychological self, the psyche, and all that is it composed of, is of value in the spiritual life. It is not to be dismissed as illusion. It can, however, drain all our energy and consciousness if we do not transform, transmute and integrate a lot of the content that is stored within our chakras.
I am not a therapist. But many of my students are, and they respect the insight and capability I have with the psychological dimension of spiritual practice. You can learn to transform your pain into power. This takes honesty, and application, and spiritual knowledge and true love of self.
