From Durga to Lakshmi: Cultivating the Shakti Within

festivals yoga of sound Oct 25, 2026

Navaratri has concluded, and Diwali is approaching. We are in a meaningful period of transition between two expressions of the Divine Feminine: the formidable power of Durga and the subtle, enriching presence of Lakshmi.

These festivals offer opportunities to connect with powerful spiritual energies. But what happens when the celebrations end? How do we cultivate these energies within ourselves and draw upon them throughout the year?

In these two short videos, I explore how the Yoga of Sound, mantra, and the human voice can help us develop an ongoing relationship with Shakti.

Video 1: From Durga to Lakshmi

An exploration of the transition from Navaratri to Diwali, and how our relationship with the Divine Feminine can move beyond festivals and rituals into a living experience of transformation.

Video 2: Develop A Durga Container

For those who wish to deepen their connection with Durga, I introduce my Container Method: a practical approach to cultivating Durga Shakti through core mantras, the 108 names, Durga Suktam, and other practices.

Two Pathways for Continued Practice

Continue with Durga from Navaratri — [Transformed by Fire]

If you missed the opportunity to connect deeply with Durga during Navaratri, or wish to continue developing her empowering presence within yourself, this program provides a structured pathway for ongoing study and practice.

Prepare for Diwali with Lakshmi — [Cultivating Abundance Consciousness]

With Diwali approaching, this is an opportunity to begin cultivating a relationship with Lakshmi through mantra, sacred sound, and Tantric practice, preparing ourselves to receive and embody her qualities of abundance, beauty, and enrichment.

The festivals come and go, but our relationship with Shakti can continue to deepen throughout the year.

In One Spirit,

Russill
